Azam Nizamuddin

Azam Nizamuddin is Managing Partner with Martoccio and Martoccio, a law firm in Hinsdale, Ill., where he practices family law, personal injury, and real estate.

Before joining the law Office of Martoccio & Martoccio, Azam served as a trial lawyer and litigator for 18 years for D’Ancona & Pflaum, Regas, Frezados and Harp, and as a solo practitioner, advising companies and individuals in the areas of general liability, commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, real estate, employment law, and family law.

Later, he served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Allied Asset Advisors and NAIT where he expanded his litigation experience into a transactional practice in the areas of litigation strategy, commercial real estate, RLUIPA, corporate transactions, and not-for-profit law.

Azam is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Muslim Bar Association. Currently, he serves as Chair of the Appellate Law Section of the DCBA. Previously, he served as the Chair of the Civil Law Section of the DCBA and Editor in Chief of the DCBA Journal, the Brief.

Azam has given CLE credit presentations for the DuPage County Bar Association on Piercing the Corporate Veil, Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, and the Pitfalls of Employee Termination, and to the Circuit Court of Cook County on Cultural Issues in Custody Disputes.

He has served on the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism since 2023.
