Peoria Bar Association Tackles Workplace Diversity

workplace diversityWorkplace diversity is a constant challenge in the legal profession. The state of Illinois is no exception. Lawyers both north and south of I-80 are constantly trying to meet this challenge in their own legal practices.

With two diversity and inclusion events in October, the Peoria County Bar Association (PCBA) is tackling this workplace diversity challenge head-on.

On October 12, 2015, the PCBA will host a Columbus Day Professional Responsibility Seminar at First United Methodist Church. The seminar will focus on diversity and inclusion.

Several legal and diversity professionals will be speaking, including United States District Judge Hon. Joe Billy McDade, City Councilwoman Beth Jensen, and Commissioner of the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism Sonni Williams.

Program attendees can receive 2 hours of professionalism CLE credit. Registration is still open for the upcoming seminar.

In addition to this, the PCBA is also hosting its 12th Annual Diversity Luncheon on October 21st held at the Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette at 12pm.

Bradley University’s Athletic Director, Chris Reynolds, will be the keynote speaker for the occasion.
