Lawyers Unite To Support Homeless Community

homeless chicago125,848. That is the estimated number of homeless people who lived in the Windy City throughout the 2014-2015 school year according to the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, a number 20% higher than the previous year.

This Tuesday evening, lawyers in the Illinois legal community are coming together to help address the problems facing Chicago’s homeless population and craft a plan to provide these citizens with the legal help they may need to get back on their feet again.

Lawyers United for the Homeless is hosting its 2nd Annual Membership Appreciation Reception to raise awareness of the cause that is far too prevalent in the community

Jayne Reardon, Executive Director of the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism, will give the keynote address at the event, shedding light on the legal community’s commitment to serve the public.

The event will be held at Sidley Austin on Tuesday, November 17 from 6pm-8pm.
