Law School Orientation Attorney Facilitator Documents

These documents were developed to prepare volunteer attorneys to facilitate small group discussions with new law students during law school orientation. In the small group discussion groups, the students are given a handout with two discussion scenarios that address issues of civility, ethics, diversity and inclusion, and professionalism. The attorney facilitator uses those scenarios with the provided facilitators’ discussion guide and their own career experiences to lead the students in an hour long engagement on the topics.

Facilitator Guide: Includes an introduction to professionalism, tips for facilitating the discussion scenarios, and the scenarios and questions provided to the law students along with answers and quick references to applicable rules.

Scenarios Handout for Students: Contains the scenarios and questions that the law students will discuss.

Pledge of Professionalism: Example pledge used at orientations for facilitator reference.
