Dan Davies is the Education Manager at the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism. He manages the Commission’s educational programming aimed at promoting a more professional, civil and inclusive legal profession. Dan partners with Commissioners and Commission staff, attorneys, CLE providers, judges and law schools to expand the number and improve the quality of learning solutions available for CLE across Illinois.
Dan brings almost two decades of international experience in education and learning development to the Commission. Through his focus on workplace learning design, Dan has had the opportunity to develop business simulations, eLearnings, virtual instructor-led courses, webinars, resources and in-person classes in diverse industries including finance, banking, technology, pharmaceuticals and nonprofit.
Prior to joining the Commission, Dan was a learning manager at the YMCA of the USA, where he designed learning solutions across topics including diversity and inclusion, achievement-gap programming and data-based decisions, and fiscal management. He began his career as a teacher in the U.K. before moving to Spain to lead efforts to refocus a school department’s curriculum to a more learner-centered design. During this time, he was also a volunteer teacher in Romania for the nonprofit The Bivol Trust.
Dan has a master’s in eLearning and Instructional Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and a bachelor’s in History and Society from the University of Worcester in England. In his free time, Dan can be found spending time with his wife and two teenage sons, coaching travel soccer and riding a motorcycle, when he has the chance.
