We inject professionalism core values into every venture that we spearhead and support. Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule, we approve the substance of continuing legal education (CLE) programs, implement a successful mentoring program, and partner with Illinois law schools to enhance awareness of professionalism issues among future lawyers. We are dedicated to furthering our mission through education and collaboration and welcome your involvement in our programs.

Our Lawyer-to-Lawyer Mentoring Program creates an opportunity for experienced lawyers to provide professional guidance and share their judgment and skills with new lawyers. Sponsored by roughly 100 organizations across Illinois, the Mentoring Program provides a flexible structure for practical learning within the context of the mentoring relationship.

We promote professional responsibility education as a vehicle for changing lawyer behavior to exemplify the highest values of our profession.  We approve all courses and activities that qualify for professional responsibility CLE credit and assist CLE providers in developing and facilitating CLE courses that encourage conduct reflective of professionalism ideals in a 21st century legal landscape.

Law Schools

The Supreme Court recognizes that changing the culture of the legal profession requires the involvement of lawyers at all stages of their careers, especially at the beginning.  Accordingly, we collaborate with faculty, staff and students at each Illinois law school to ensure that our future lawyers are fully engaged in civility and professionalism.
