Vanessa Romeo has served as an adjunct professor at Joliet Junior College for almost 14 years, where she teaches classes in career and lifestyle planning, labor market information, decision making, goal setting strategies, general psychology, and life span psychology. Prior to teaching, Ms. Romeo held several throughout her career including vice president of programs for Big Brother/Big Sisters of Will-Grundy County, human resource director for Keystrokes Transcriptions, Inc., human resource manager for Provena Health, and as an imaging services support manager/human resource generalist for Silver Cross Hospital.
Vanessa’s experience includes 10+ years as a certified Senior Human Resource Manager/Organizational Development Specialist. Her areas of expertise extend from reviewing policy and procedures, counseling, leadership and teamwork training to multicultural awareness, employment/recruitment, staff training and development and career and personal planning. Thanks to her expansive background, she is fluent in state and federal employment law, including corporate compliance and employer/employee rights and obligations.
Ms. Romeo received her master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet and a second master’s degree in Psychology and Counseling from Lewis University.
Vanessa Romeo has served as a member of the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism since 2009.
