Donna Crawford advances the digital media communication, website development, and organizational strategy for 2Civility. An author, educator, mediator, meditator, and accidental techie, Donna is known for her creativity, leadership and ability to bring big ideas into reality.
As one of the first employees of the Commission, Donna was a key visionary for development of strategic planning, mentoring and educational initiatives. Today you will find her collaborating with technology consultants, driving content initiatives to support thought leadership, delivering technical solutions for program improvement, and strategizing about innovative possibilities for our organization.
Prior to joining our team, Donna founded and led the National Center for Conflict Resolution Education for the U.S. Department of Justice, initiated youth arts peace projects across the nation for the National Endowment for the Arts, and served as principal and assistant superintendent in large K-12 public schools systems.
Donna has authored books, chapters, articles and multimedia publications about emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. Most notably, she wrote and co-produced the films and interactive media for the Emmy-Award winning Take a Stand Stop the Violence campaign for MTV and the Clinton White House.
Donna received her undergraduate degree and two masters degrees from the University of Illinois. Outside of the office, you will find her trekking the globe, meditating at a spiritual university in India, studying the art of filmmaking, and practicing yoga.
