Boston Together

IgniteOur hearts go out to all those who lost loved ones or who were otherwise devastated by the awful Boston bombing on Monday. Helplessness and sadness permeated the airwaves and screens. The common horror in the pits of our collective gut drew us closer. As we vicariously revel in the triumph of athletes who through grit and determination prevail over weakness of body and spirit, we Americans will persevere in the Rule of Law that also defines the fabric of our society. The press conference yesterday morning made me proud. Beginning with the governor of Massachusetts, speaker after speaker from the national, state, and local levels explaining their respective roles in the investigation of this crime and that they were working seamlessly with one another. They thanked the first responders and many others who saved lives. And many asked that members of the public who may have evidence–video or photographs or personal observations–call the hotline numbers. We, the people of these United States, count on cooperation between members of the public, law enforcement, and the legal system. As of this morning, I heard that over 2,000 tips have been received. Together we will prevail.
